Spent the day yesterday back and forth to the Apple Store trying to get our old MacBook Pro fixed - it had been acting really funny lately so I tried to update the software - which didn’t fully install and kinda bricked the machine - the Apple Store was able to get Mavericks loaded and now it is working - but it keeps shutting down unexpectedly and having safari errors and displaying weird graphics - I’m pretty sure the ram is bad - only thing is - $100 dollars to upgrade the ram and no guarantee that it will do the trick - plus the computer is pushing 5 years old - how much longer will it last?

MacBroke

We have this old MacBook Pro - 5 years old - that I’ve been pretty much ignoring for a while - I spend most of my time on my MacBook Air and iPad Mini - but my wife and kid uses it - well it’s been slowing down a lot lately so I tried to update the software to Mavericks - it downloaded but won’t install - when I tried to fix the hard drive and permissions, it basically died - I tried to recover it from time machine - that kinda worked but now the software is all messed up - missing icons, funky things happening on the screen, the finder not opening - all kinds of things messed up - I went from never using this computer to now being obsessed with it - how can I fix it - how are we going to live without it - oh woe is me…

Are Gadgets really a threat to planes?
"40% said they did not turn their phones off completely during takeoff and landing on their most recent flight; more than 7% left their phones on"
If our gadgets were really that dangerous to airplanes, they wouldn’t let us even bring them on the plane. Like pocket knives…. or water…
